We have been in and around the Clifton Park area for the past 20 years and have seen tremendous growth and development taking place. Many new developments have sprouted up and many plazas and new companies have made there way into the area. There are numerous townhome developments and older housing developments built in the 1960's and 1970's that are starting to see outdated and unsafe electrical systems incapable of handling the electrical demands of today's family. With all the devices and many uses families have for TV's, high-end entertainment systems, advanced refrigerators, ovens etc... it is becoming increasingly apparent that people should be doing their due diligence to see if they need to consider upgrading their electrical panels to ensure their homes are safe and up to current electrical code.

A little info about the Clifton Park area...
Seeing we service Clifton Park and spend a lot of time in the area, we thought to share info about the area for those who might be considering moving here or visiting friends and family and looking for things to do and see...
Clifton Park is a centrally-located family-oriented city of 40,000 people found just 15 minutes north of Albany. It is the area that I have lived in for almost 20 years and have seen tremendous growth and changes both from the residential and commercial perspectives. We have seen more and more traffic over the last decade as more housing developments have been built and many commercial plazas have been constructed.
Clifton Park is located in a great central spot 20 minutes south of Saratoga Springs and north of Albany. Whether you like to visit downtown Saratoga for track season in the summer or head downtown Albany for a concert or some cultural attractions in Albany, getting there from Clifton Park is really easy when you use the Northway heading either north or south.
Clifton Park is found bordering the Mohawk River on the southside and is located in southern Saratoga County. It runs from exit 8 to exit 10 on the Northway. Throughout the area, we will find a mix of older and newer suburban neighborhoods that are, for the most part, extremely well-maintained. People who live in the area have always respected their property and are very conscientious about keeping their yards neat and tidy.
There have been many retail stores and businesses that have decided to make Clifton Park their home as the area off exit 9 has seen in explosion in business opportunities. Uncommon Ground is a coffee and bagel shop with locations in Albany and Saratoga Springs and took over the old Starbucks location in Clifton Park and is seeing a domination affect with what they offer. People are tired of the chain coffee places and the store is loved by everyone in the area.
If you are an outdoors person, there are a number of great parks for you to visit with your friends and family. There is Hayes Nature Park on Moe Road between exit 8 in 8A. This is a figure 8 nature trail that is about a mile long and has gravel trails perfect for walking in the woods. Personally, this is an area where I have run hundreds of times over the years and love the solitude it offers.
You can go down to Vischer Ferry and hike along the trails that border the old Erie canal. There are miles of trails and if you are a burden to CS, you will find a huge assortment of ducks and other birds in the area for hunting or viewing pleasure.
Another great Park is Kinns Road Park located on the northern edge of Clifton Park. Dogs are welcome providing they are kept on a leash. There are miles of trails around this area and it is always wonderful hiking through the pine trees and down to the river. This is also a great place to go cross country skiing or snowshoeing in the winter time. Especially this winter with all the cold and snow we are experiencing this is a great place to get a significant amount of exercise.
Shenendehowa is the school including park and has over 10,000 students across more than a dozen different buildings. Clifton Commons Is a great athletic field and park system that is on the east end of the school campus. There is a great wooden park that is actually being renovated in the spring due to some friends on the board who have worked feverishly to prevent it from being torn down. Everyone in Crofton Park news about the wooden park and it’s history and sentimental value.
The soccer fields and baseball fields see many sports teams playing on them from the spring through the fall seasons. There are also a number of hiking trails around that you can explore with your kids.
If you are about nostalgic places to visit, you want to go to Lindsey’s County Store in Halfmoon on Route 9 just south of WalMart. They have a wide array of jellies, sauces and the best cider doughnuts around. You could also visit river view orchards which is down on the southside of coarse and park and they have the best hot cider donuts, even better than Lindsey’s. Riverview Orchards offers an amazing display of apple cider, apples, honey, sauces etc.
Or you could visit Bowman Orchards Which has a great opportunity to go apple picking and a ton of livestock on display for the kids to see. There is even a playground with a pirate ship and other things to climb on. We actually went there this fall and had a great time with friends and family.
If you are an ice cream fan, then you will want to visit Country Drive-In off exit 8 or Rainbow Delight on Route 9 north of WalMart. These are our two favorite places to get ice cream.
Then, if you are into sports, the Sportsplex of Halfmoon Is a popular spot where flag football and all kinds of games are hosting throughout the year. Often, there are many consignment events and other trade shows that are hosting here and is a great place to meet people and have some fun.
There are a number of really great churches in the area if that is something of interest to you. Northway Church actually just finished building their new location off exit 10 on Ushers Road. The church has seen amazing growth over the last 10 years and with the new location expect much more.
Housing prices have obviously climbed due to the desirable amenities and well-kept homes in the area. It is an area that people want to live in because of its great location and close proximity to other areas in the Capital Region. Below is an example of a typical home you might find in the Clifton Park area...
There are many great restaurants to eat in, many great retail stores to shop in and many places to explore with your friends and family. Clifton Park will always hold a special place in my heart as we have spent many years here. So the next time you are in the Albany area, make sure to venture north to Clifton Park and experience everything it has to offer.
